Volunteering

CHOICE IN HACKNEY's Volunteer Project is looking for volunteers to provide one-to-one support to disabled people. Because the needs of disabled people are varied, the support is flexible and may include: assisting with going out, gardening, reading, recycling, shopping, helping with paperwork, and other activities.

Volunteers can take on different tasks depending on their interest, availability and skills. We always match volunteers with service users on the basis of mutual preferences and volunteers have the right not to perform the tasks they are not comfortable with.

We also have opportunities for disabled and non-disabled volunteers supporting Choice in an office environment. These may include: administration, project support and development, research, personal assistance to disabled advocates. These opportunities come up at different times throughout the year and may not be available at all times. If you have an active interest in any of these areas please feel free to contact us to discuss further details.

We will soon be adding an online application form to this website but in the mean time please feel free to download an application form from below.
