History

 CHOICE was founded in 1992 and was originally funded for 3 years by the Inner City Partnership.

One of the original founders, Caroline Nelson, is the current Director of CHOICE and leads a well-established and knowledgeable team.

19 years on CHOICE is a well-established, innovative and effective organisation.  We are currently funded by the London Borough of Hackney (LBH), City & Hackney Primary Care Trust (PCT), the Department of Health (DH), South Hackney Parochial, Homes for Islington and Trust For London.

As the name CHOICE suggests, we are here  to provide services in line with our service users' choice.

User involvement is one of our key strengths as we believe strongly in the importance of users shaping the direction that our organisation takes.  This has lead to the development of two new services in 2009: our Volunteer Service and Advocacy Training & Employment Service

In 2010 a total of 301 London people used CHOICE’S services.
